What is an "unattended" version of Windows?

I've been surfing the internet high and low for years and have never heard of this phrase/name/label.

Thank You.

unattended - put the CD in the computer, turn it on, format the HD and leave, come back in an hour and ur OS is installed. Your apps and tweaks can also be installed at the same time with no user intervention. That is the idea, the user has to do practically nothing

That's the first thing I thought of, but I doubted an entire forum section could be dedicated to something like that, so I figured there was more. Oh well.

It is quite a lot more than it may seem at first.

Actually this forum section (=Unattended Windows) is not the only one on the subject, there are some more sections more or less closely related to it.

Read the guide prathapml suggested.

i'll simplify this...

Unattended Windows XP CD = Time Saver... and frankly imho Best thing since sliced bread.

Put CD in drive, auto formats, auto installs windows, auto installs apps and your registry settings. come back in an hour after watching some football chuggin down some beer with all your favorite apps installed and waiting for you.
