Multiboot WinXP Pro, Windows Server 2003 and Fedora Core 4

Featured Replies

Hi There,

I am new in this forum. Just wondering if any one here has experience with this

Current Configuration

DualBooting WinXP Pro and Fedora Core 4 using GRUB

I would like to add windows server 2003 into my PC. Not very sure how should I proceed ?

Thanks for all the help....

rgds,

Rob

Just install Linux last. It would proabably help if you partition some space before hand. For Windows, you absolutely need to have prepartitioned space before hand. Hope this helps.

I should have said that all windows requires you to have partitioned space before hand since it does not allow partitioning on a drive that's already used. In other words, if you have XP on an unpartitioned hard drive, you wont be able to install Server without formating the hard drive. Good luck.

just install SRV2k3 wherever u want without disturbing Linux

then it will overwrite the mbr so that GRUB willnot be ther to load

boot u s/m with Fedora cd1

type "linux rescue" at the install propmt that just booted

it will find the installation and asks u to mount it, Let it be mounted

the mount point willbe probably "/mnt/sysimage"

now u will be in command console

execute "chroot /mnt/sysimage"

followed by "grub-install /dev/hda"

Note : if u have SATA HDD it should be /dev/sda

exit and reboot

now u will ge grub back
