do you use classic theme in XP ??

if so you can right click on your desktop > properties > appearence > advanced

choose from drop down menu: 3D objects

if you change this color, it will change your tasbar color but will also change the body color of other windows components...

if you use styles, then you had to get a program to modify its parts like Style builder.
