DarkCloud Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 On the desktop, how do you change the background font color so it's transparent, and not always one color? For example, the "My Computer" icon, how do you change it so where it says "My Computer" there's no background color behind it, like on XP? I remember reading somewhere that it was possible, but I don't remember where I found it....
miko Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 (edited) you need a app like transicondownload here (its a 9kb exe) -http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.htmljust put it in a folder and put a shortcut to it in your StartUp folder in the Start menu(in the case of this one with "TransIcon.exe on" command line switch)there are others (search the forums) but this seems the smallest and i like tiny apps.(btw an install of Desktop Architect 2.11 (an old windows 98se theming app i pimp a lot) will do the same thing (via a cpl extension) and get rid of shortcut arrows . . .) eidenk Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I am using Hook99. It also allows modifications of the start button.
