Dion Peddle Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 here is my plight......A colleague has emaileda word document to me. When I try to save the attachment using save as, it defaults to the following dir.C:documents and settings>username>local settings>temporary internet files>OLK7.I have never created this folder????When I try to open the directory. I only get as far as temporary internet files and cannot see the folder "OLK7"???Would it have something to do with the fact that the local settings folder icon is faded?????I have a couple of hundred word documents that I cannot access????Can anyone help????
ringfinger Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 This is a temp directory, it is hidden by default in your temp internet files dir. Whenever you open the attachment from an email and then save it, it saves in the temp folders. Instead of editing the file or whatever you're doing from the email itself, save the file in a folder where you wanty it and edit it from there. Or open the file, edit it, and the goto File > Save As. And you should be good to go.
