jillc70
I just installed Windows XP Pro SP2 from an OEM CD (after many problems) on a new build. I hate to say it, but there are still a few problems and I think I may have to reformat my hard drive and reinstall. I haven't activated the current install yet as I haven't integrated the comp into my network in order to connect to the internet.I'm concerned because I read that OEM versions can only be installed on one system and can't be uninstalled and reinstalled on another system. Is this true, or can I reformat my HD and reinstall whenever I want? I usually reformat every year anyway, and I want to now because I think I will have to change some BIOS settings and start over in order for the system to work the way I want.Any info would be appreciated.Thanks. chilifrei64
as long as you are on the same machine you should be all set.. worst case scenario... you will have to call up MS because your key code will be locked.. they will ask you if this is the only computer it is installed on.. you say yes and they give you the activation.
