shuhtala Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 I'm having a problem with the deletion of regular binary-file (.ape). The file was originally in a zip-file which I tried to unzip with winrar. Winrar froze in the process and I was forced to reboot the computer. The file came out otherwise perfecly usable, but I can't delete or rename it! When I try to delete the file explorer.exe freezes (CPU usage ~100%) and I'm forced to reboot the computer (takes ages). Apparently something got corrupted... I ran the Error-checking to the hard drive, but it didn't find anything wrong. I even tried to delete the file with several "secure wipe"-programs with similar results (total freezing -> reboot) OS: XP professional (version 2002, sp2)Any help would be appreciated.-Sami
net_user Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 check out bartpemake the cdboot up to the cddrill down to the file and delete it.
Jeremy Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Download Unlocker, then right-click on the file, click "Unlock" anything using it. Then you will be able to delete it.
shuhtala Posted September 29, 2005 Author Posted September 29, 2005 Thank you Jeremy - Unlocker worked as expected!
