Careless Reg Editing Mistake - Search Button

Featured Replies

Hi, does anyone know the reg entry for the Start > Search > For Files or Folders? If you do, can you please export it and attach it here?? I made a boo-boo. :blushing:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState]

"Settings"=hex:0c,00,02,00,1b,01,e7,77,60,00,00,00

"FullPath"=dword:00000001

"FullPathAddress"=dword:00000001

"Use Search Asst"="yes"

Is that what you want?

DigeratiPrime helped me. Moderator can delete this now.

Tsk tsk tsk... didn't you always learn to backup your registry before playing with it? ;)

Well, the strange thing about it, is that I was trying to select a different option, and I guess my mouse cursor was off by a pixel and selected the wrong one. Therefore, I didn't intend on backing up that particular key. By the time I realized I selected the wrong one, it was too late. If I am worried about what might happen, I do always backup the regkeys. :P
