zaal Posted September 25, 2005 Share Posted September 25, 2005 my xp booting is way too slow(takes about 10 mins) though i have one of the fastest systems-p4 ht 3.0 gz,with 2 mb ram.i have disabled most of the memory resident programs.any solutions? ixion Posted September 25, 2005 Share Posted September 25, 2005 at what stage? before you see the XP splash screen? after you see it? is there anything on the screen? try be a bit more pro-active when asking for assistance... is this a new install?did you install anything?change a jumper on a drive, install a new drive? Also if you havent cleaned it out lately, run disk cleanup, i guess if ur running out of HDD space or its pretty cluttered it wud be gut to defragment it as it can help improve the boot and shutdown.what about spyware scans?
