randallc Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I have installed Business Contact Manager on my desktop and laptop.When I follow the instructions to share the database I get the error."Verification of your remote user account on computer R-DESKTOP has failed. Possible causes include: your remote account is disabled, your remote account is locked out, or the remote database has not been marked as shared. Check with the administrator of the remote computer"I have both PC's on the MS Home group. I can see the and share files on both c drives. No firewalls other than MS. What do I need to do to get this to work? It appears to want me to have a login to the desktop? How do I do that?Any help would be really great.Thanks.R
Hatefulsorrow Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Make a new user on the com that is trying to connect to the DB with the same name and password as the comp with DB. This will allow that user connect.Hope that helps
