spymasters Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Hi There computer geeks and freaks.I know nothing about the subject so I bow to all you folks who find this stuff simple. So here's my problem I wonder if you can advise? We are opening a new activity centre for kids based around spying and we want to communicate with the players by RF or Bluetooth PDA. BUT!!! we would like sound files sent to the PDA's to start playing automatically as soon as they are received. Is this possible or have you any other suggestions?.
ripken204 Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 spying as spying on people or as in spware? both of those are bad things to do. or is this just some fun game for the kids where they spy on eachother? im not sure about how to do this but are the pda's all networked to a main computer? and can the signal reach?
spymasters Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 Hi Ripken204Have a look at the website this should explain more, although its not quite finished.www.spymasters.co.uk,Hopefully brilliant fun for kids!!All the PDA's will be in the same building being contacted from a central computer.
ripken204 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 im not sure what program to use, what would be the best thing to do is to have all of the sound files on the pda so that they dont need to be downloaded, then you need to somehow give a signal to play that file.
spymasters Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 We considered this along with a infrared signal device in the rooms, but there is nothing to stop the kids playing all the files out of sequence.
ripken204 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 well you could just tell them not to pay the files, or you could make them hidden so that they dont know where they are
spymasters Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Making them hidden is not a bad idea, I'll look into that
