I need a support in guiding me in establishing a VPN Connection.

we need more specific information.. what tyep of vpn are you talking about. MS, Cisco, CheckPoint.....

are you talking about setting up a vpn server or just connecting to a VPN server?

What OS are you running.

Are you getting errors when you try it? If so what are the errors

have this small network, and a sonicwall firewall. but we have a branch offices, and i am planning to have their connection via vpn. i dona't have any idea on setting up this kind of connection.

are these branch offices sonicwalls also?

If so.. purchase the Sonicwall VPN License for each of the Sonicwalls and set up a site to site VPN. And honestly.. just run the wizard from within sonicwall. It is really easy..

Also, get the company you work at, to send you on basic VPN training - product specific if possible.

It isnt that expensive and you'll understand it alot better also.

I've managed to work it out mostly myself - it isnt that hard if you take time out to understand the processes in how VPN works etc.

we have different type of router. also 2 main offices, 1 is using sonicwall and the other is fortigate and the rest of the offices are using dial-up connections only w/o router.

With that being the case.. I would start reading.. or get them to purchase all the same equipment (all sonicwalls) the routers wont matter.

I would prefer to use all PIX's for site to site (actually setting this up tomorrow morning at one of my clients) Very strong and reliable and most of all secure

If you are about to try to set up VPN's using multiple vendor equipment and are hoping that these will interoperate.. you are kidding yourself. VPN's are very complex systems when you get down to the nitty gritty. And using multiple vendor stuff amost certinately requires you to get down to the nitty gritty..

I agree with it_ybd.. have you company send you out on a refresher course or start pickin up some books cause you'll be in for a ride.

Or better yet.. you could hire an outsourcing company to do this for you.. it helps bring people like me more business.:-D

btw, maybe u cud help me also on this one...

have this new pc on our company, its's shuttle pc,3gig processor, winxp-sp2, IE6 browsers open for about 10-15 minutes and then suddenly exits when i hit the back/forward button.

how is that? how can i resolve this one?
