banny5011 Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 hello! Can anybody teach me how to stop scandisk before login windows xp. My computer always auto scan my c: or e: drive although i shut down windows properly . Help me pls. THK
Innocent Devil Posted September 4, 2005 Posted September 4, 2005 Windows actually checks the drives every time u startto see that /sos or /debug ((i think so ) instead of /fastdetect u can see the loading of drivers checking disks instead of the windows logo.so after login u check ur disks corrctly and find & remove any bad clusters using the scandisk
nimda Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 you can run "scandisk /f" if you're really sick and tired of it, but this can damage your system in some cases .. google for more info
darth_ash Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 1) Open cmd.2) Type fsutil dirty query x:. Press <Enter>3) If it says "Volume X: is dirty", run a manual chkdsk x: /f scan at that instant.Reboot after u have followed the above steps for all x:
