Another crap product

Tried installing Windows Media Centre for the first time and half way through the install I get a message requesting SP2 CD.

As far as I can see SP2 Cd has not been supplied with the pack so I take this to be an incomplete product from Microsoft. I have two CDs; MS Media 1 and MS MEDia 2 but no SP2 CD.

A letter has been sent to Trading Standards requesting clarification on whether this particular product from Microsoft conforms to UK Trading Standards.

In the meantime I have a PC halfway through installation that I'm unable to complete and I have absolutely no intention of creating a CD that Microsoft should have supplied in the first place.

WHAT A CHEEK!.

mce is xp, just a catchy name added. sp2 cd should be cd1 or 2 did you try using both of them?

MS Media 1 is the SP2 CD.... MS Media 2 is the Media Center part of the pack thingy.... B)

Thanks for your replies. I didn't know 'please insert Disc SP2' actually means 'please insert Media Disc 1'. I had to escape the window and let it carry on installing.

Now that Windows has installed I discover many essential windows components are missing, like Internet Explorer MS Messenger and Outlook Express. They do not even appear in the add programs directory!

What is the multi-billion corporation doing? Can't they get it right?

This product is going back to the reseller for an immediate refund

Thanks for help anyway, appreciate it.
