Hi

I've been having a problem reinstalling Windows Media Player 7.1. I'm not using Media Player 9 as I don't care about a flashy design. I just want Media Player

When it's installing and it comes to registering the components it comes up with this error message

SETUP_WM caused a stack fault in module QUARTZ.DLL at 016f:355601f5.

Could someone help shed some light on this problem

Any help would be greatly apprechiated

yepp

and why i say it : cause some files from system directory were replaced by files that are older or not signed by m$ and this files will keep give u errors. so a clean install would be my option...better do it with win2k if u have it....

boooggy, do you know of any other possible way's of fixing this error such as replacing the quartz.dll with the latest version or something else. If not then it looks as if I will have to do it the hard old fashioned way

I've found the quartz.dll file from my original win 98 cd. Is it just a matter of copying and overwriting the file inside the system directory
