Nerwin Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Hey guys you can probably help me out i just installed windows xp again becasue there was something wrong, anyway i went to disable local aera conn but it came up with a error (see Picture)
chilifrei64 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 This wouldnt happen to be a Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop would it? Otherwise, and people may have their own opinions on this, remove all network options except for Client for Microsoft NetworksFile and Print Sharing for Microsoft NetworksInternet Protocol (TCP/IP) Sometimes the additional stuff listed in there (QOS, Agis, Network Monitor,......) can cause an error like this to happen. Obviously if you run a network that requires QOS or Agis or anything special, dont remove it, however if this is a home network, you probably dont need it.
Nerwin Posted August 29, 2005 Author Posted August 29, 2005 no its not a dell i built my self i did what you told me and it still dose it
chilifrei64 Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 do you have a firewall running or just windows firewall. Basically there is something keeping it open.. kinda like how you cant delete a file when it is in use.. you cant disable the interface if something else is grabbing ahold of it.Try booting in safe mode with networking and see if it still happens.
