AgentAmanda Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 Sometimes just randomly a window on my Sony Vaio pops up saying "this system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. THis shutdown was initialized by NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Time before shutdown (usually one minute) Message: The system process C:\\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128. The system will now shut down and restart." Does anyone know what would cause this or how to fix it? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you-Amanda
hydr0g3n Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 There is a worm associated with this process and error. Its name is Sasser (i think). Google the error message for more info.

KJxp Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 I haven't seen that for a long time, but it's Sasser for sure. I didn't know that worm was still roaming the wide-wilderness-web.
