fatdog Posted November 10, 2001 Posted November 10, 2001 Are XP Pro and XP Corporate the same thing or are different from each other? And do you have to register ethier one, mine is the pro version and it said it is an option.
XPerties Posted November 10, 2001 Posted November 10, 2001 XP corp that you probaly heard about is a cracked warez version of XP pro that does not need to be activated. There both the same unless your version is retail (bought from a store) then you have to activate it.-XPerties
FthrJACK Posted November 10, 2001 Posted November 10, 2001 erm.. corporate is a real product, as well as the cracked thing too, the "crack" is merely a way of turning xp pro into "corporate"
Razor Posted November 11, 2001 Posted November 11, 2001 Well,If MS only releases a "Pro" version, what would you do if you wanted to install "Pro" on 150 network computers at your office. You would go MAD making sure that each computer uses a different serial number etc. When you reinstall the computer you would have to use the original serial number as well.PAIN IN THE a** !!!That is y MS released a Corporate edition. To sell 200 copies at a time to a company and so it was easier for the company to manage their computers. They also got rid of the Windows Activation. PLUS !!!So, If you manage to find a copy of Windows Pro Corp, then you do not have to activate it !!!!Razor
