Xeratus Posted August 15, 2005 Share Posted August 15, 2005 (edited) Hi, i have a ati radeon 9550. i'm playing battelfield 2 when out of the sudden it kicks me out to windows. it says something bout vpu recovery and that it will switch to software render.btw im downloading so i have the computer on for a long time so im wondering if the video card is overheated. i wanna know if theer's a way to fix this Edited August 15, 2005 by Xeratus Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
GeneralMandible Posted August 16, 2005 Share Posted August 16, 2005 (edited) Downloading and leaving your computer on won't overheat your video card. I would make sure you have all the patches for windows, DirectX, and Battlefield 2 installed. Also, check for BIOS updates and new drivers from ATI. If it only happens when you're playing graphics intensive games, then it could be the vid card overheating. MAke sure your case has adequate ventilation. If the heatsync on the vid card doesn't have a fan, you could add one. Hopefully some of this may help. Good luck!
