Guest RobinAnn Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Just wondering - does Micro$oft place a "disable-copy-function" file in the original CD to prohibit making a backup copy... ? I am trying to make a backup CD of frontpage 2003 and keep getting an error message and the CD is also rendered unusable.Has anyone ever run into this and also know the file to delete from the copy folder. I am using Win XP.
firefoxthebomb Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 no they do not, what software are you using to make your backup copy. You could try using magiciso to make an iso image first, then use the same program to burn the cd from the iso image you created. As long as it is for a backup copy of the CD.
Guest RobinAnn Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I was just using XP writable folder, not a software burner. Prob my 1st mistake... 3CD's later... still
JuMz Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Make an ISO from it using ISO buster...then burn the ISO to CD.
Guest RobinAnn Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 I downloaded Magic ISO after firefoxthebomb suggested it first. I'm working on the Burn... I hope it works! ( it seems to be working )
