Not too hot on my computing, and not even sure if in the right discussion group (serves me right for doing a history degree!)

I have written a document in Microsoft Works Word Processor and it is a wps file. I have been trying to send it to various people in an email as an attachment but they are having problems recieving it- they need it in .doc format, or at least so they can open it in Word. I know how to change the format (saving it under a new name and changing the 'save as type' to doc, but for some reason it still wont work. Am I doing something inherently wrong?

Any other advice apart from having to buy Microsoft Word (not Works!).

Any help much appreciated!

Thankyou! :D

The steps you have taken to solve this problem are correct! It, under normal circumstances, should have worked. You can try sending the Doc to someone here (me included) and we can attempt to re-save it as a word document and sending it back. Also, what version of office are they using and what version of works are you using?
