mentalcase Posted August 8, 2005 Share Posted August 8, 2005 Alright well i got a copy of vista beta from a friend and went to install it after work today. I started the install within windows and then went away for a few hours. When i returned to the screen, the screen just showed an error. Not a blue screen but i black screen with a bunch of unrecognizeable text. So i restarted the computer booted from the vista dvd and the same screen popped up. I then took the disk and attempted to boot it from my dell laptop. It worked perfectly. rico2k_uk Posted August 12, 2005 Share Posted August 12, 2005 that looks like a basic hardware driver crash.. usually a problem with hardware on xp, but could also be a memory error... if using multiple sticks of ram, take them all but one out and try again, failing that.. dont install on that pc.
