  1. sorry, been a while... okay.. you have to install the os the slow way - cant get around taht... start it in safe mode, go into device manager. on the processor, click on update drivers, manually select the drivers you downloaded, and reboot... all should run perfect in normal mode.
  2. i have the drivers : http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRI...126001152.shtml
  3. it is supprisingly a driver problem for the amd chipset! i was kinda suprised myself... just about to reinstall vista with the new build so will find it and post a link here for you all!
  4. there is a flaw in the vista drivers for most AMD processors. i have the 2600+xp and had the same problem.. i cant remember where, but there is a driver set on this forum which i had to install over the vista ones (after it installed after 8 hours), which made it all run perfectly!
  5. that looks like a basic hardware driver crash.. usually a problem with hardware on xp, but could also be a memory error... if using multiple sticks of ram, take them all but one out and try again, failing that.. dont install on that pc.
  6. hi all! i have now been trying to install vista a few times, but same problem keeps occuring. when i try to install, everything is running EXTREAMLY slowly. when typing in my key for installation (after booting from dvd), the delay isabout 1 second per key. This continues on and on, and i had to let it install (which took 8+ hours). once completed, i have to boot using safe mode and then when its saying completing installation, an error box comes up saying : unable to complete, please try installing again (or words to that effect). I am using an xp 2600+, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd, geforce 6600gt. any clues? would like to try it, but not if its not going to install obvously! Thanks.
