Computer Freezes/Shutsdown on game start ups!?

Hey,

i recently built a gaming computer..I am having problems tho. when I start up a game it freezes or restarts..

System specs..

AMD 64 3500+ Processor

Geforce 4 6800 GT OC

K8N Neo 4 PLat. Motherboard

X-Clio PSU

Seagate Harddrive 180 GB

Windows XP

Ok, I turned off the "Automatic Restart" and it took me to a blue screen with the Error.. Portcls.sys... Anyone have any suggestions?

Can you give more info please? Is the game 16 bit? Is the cd scratched? Do you have direct x? Do you have the proper drivers?
