gamehead200 Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Is there such a thing as a wireless USB hub?
Aaron Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 I may be wrong, but I very much doubt a USB Hub exists, because Hubs don't need to be plugged into the PC to operate, they are standalone devices that communicate with cat5 cable or wireless transmissions to your PC's network card.Although, I've seen wireless USB adapters, such as this: http://www.linksys.com/products/product.as...cid=36&prid=519 handy when you've run out of pci slots
gamehead200 Posted February 11, 2003 Author Posted February 11, 2003 Nope...That's not it...What I'm looking for is a hub that you can plug-in to a wall outlet for power and plug-in a "base station" on your computer without the hub being connected to it in any way. You would be able to plug-in any USB device and be able to operate it wirelessly...If this doesn't exist, someone better invent it !
zipp51 Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 I have a usb powered hub so they do exist.I use it with a usb switch so I can use all my usb devices ie.satelllite modem, scanner, printer, mouse, and card reader and share them with 4 computers.D-Link DSB-H4 is the name and model for the hub.I would certainly welcome a wireless version,I've got wires everywhere.
XPerties Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 yep I got a USB hub also, but not wireless....not sure if they are out there, if not they will be soon.
