Installation Problems...

Ok I am having major issues installing vista. I was successful in installing vista on my smaller hard drive just by opening up the .rar archive...it runs great...no problems with the dual boot at all...what i am trying to do is format my computer completely and have vista installed on the major hard drive instead of xp...my problem is that the vista i downloaded is not bootable when you burn it to a dvd. i know that there are ways to make a cd bootable but i have no idea how to do this...if someone could help me out with this it would b great

another way that I THINK i could do this is by booting up to my vista on my g: drive and then formatting my c: drive? i know that it wont let me because my c: drive is the master drive of course...is there a way that i can format c: drive and then install vista onto that while im in my g: drive and then boot to my c: drive then format my g: drive to get rid of vista on there? im sorry if this sounds a lil confusing but it was the best way that i could explain it...thanx for all of your help

Did you extract the ISO and burned the files to a DVD or burned the ISO as a file instead of an image. If you did one of those two then it won't work, you have to burn the DVD ISO as an image.
