Need some help choosing a graphics card

Hello all,

I have a budget of <£100.

I'm looking to purchase a graphics card. After looking through some reviews and shopping sites, the choice came down to these:

The x700 Pro (128mb) from LOW

The 9800 Pro (128mb) from eBuyer

The 6800LE (128mb) from OCUK (bottom one on page)

The card will mainly be used for gaming. If anyone knows of any better deals, please let me know.

Which of these cards is going to give the best proformance? (links to benchmarks/ comparisons would be good). What about the vanilla 6600, how does this compare? I can't really spend above £80-90, the vanilla 6800 and the 6600GT are both ~£130

If anyone else has any other reccomendations feel free to post.

Thanks for help in advance.

Edit: Does anyone know if the leadtec 6800LE i posted is unlockable? Or the % of success rate? Thanks

Hi mate, I would go with the LE.

Ive been a customer of OcUK for a long time, and I recomend signing up to there forums. Good info on there :)

The 6800 series @ OcUK has just got cheaper lately as the 6800 series is virtually EOL and not being manufactured any more.

The reason I would go for the LE is it will be faster than the other two due to having a 256bit mem bus and the X700 only having a 128 one which will hamper performance.

The leadtek are apparently the best at unlocking (I think the Aopens were too) although unfortunatly I think the success rate isnt as good as it has been. Which is kind of weird, lately the overclocking and unlocking potential of the 6800 cards has gone down abit it seems (from a general feeling I have got).

Hi mate!

Thanks for the helpful feedback. I posted the same thread at another forum and all i got was a message saying "google is my freind". I think i made it clear i already used google.

I think i might just risk getting the 6800LE and hoping it unlocks, as when it unlocks, it kicks the 6600GT. Even if the pipelines don't unlock it'll still overclock... right? As the cooling is the same as on the 6800GT.

Thanks again.
