Windows Vista Information

I'm surprised I haven't found anything related to this on the web yet. If you have Build 5048 and open up SOURCES\PKEYCONF.XML, you will find that Vista was originally planned to be named Windows 2006 and would have been in the Windows NT 5.5 family.

Windows xp (nt 5.1)

Windows vista (nt 6.0)

start>run> type in winver.

Windows xp is Windows 2002

windows server 2003 is dubbed windows 2003

right click on my computer and select properties

or control panel>system

Maybe the information is wrong now, but I'm not sure. Maybe Vista isn't the final name?
