Im Not A Network Admin, But I Play One At Work..

Recommended Posts

having some difficulties with roaming profiles(on a win2k server). i know its some small tiddly thing that i am forgetting, but im tired of beating my head against the wall.

i set up a roaming profile for my self no probs (im the domain admin). but when i try to get a roaming profile for a user, it fails on login and loads a local profile. the path is fine, but they dont have the correct access rights. profile is saved to their home(h:) directory on the server, which the profile path points to. they can access their h: drive fine but the roaming profile wont load because of insufficient rights?

profile path is as follows: \\server_name\d$\Users\user_name

id like to figure out a way to do it w/o adding more rights to the user. id like to keep them locked down as much as possible.

EDIT

figured it out, just changed the profile path to \\servername\username$ adn it worked.
