promind Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I have a lot of programs to be installed after windows installation.so i need to use atleast 2 cds to put the softwares.is it possible to in WPI that it will automaticly ask for the cd (1 or 2) that contains the software.?
SiNNuT Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Maybe an obvious reply, but can't you just use a dvd?

SiNNuT Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 (edited) Make iso, test it with vmware/virtual pc, if you're happy with it ftp it to a friend and let him burn the dvd. He (and you ofc) gets a nice dvd and you don't have to bother with multiple cd's, which i think isn't even possible. Edited July 22, 2005 by SiNNuT
Kelsenellenelvian Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Just number your installs and when your cd gets full write a VB box That says "Insert CD 2" and have a click to continue button on it.Anything that will cause a pause and then continue will do heck I bet you could even use a batch file.

oioldman Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 (edited) there was great cd-switching tool released by nanaki http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...hl=cd-switchingbut think it will do the trick if you use it as last in order. It will eject your current cd, ask you to insert cd 2, and will autorun this 2nd cd when inserted and continue with the install of apps, as long as you've set this to autrun as noted in the many topics within the wpi area Edited July 28, 2005 by oioldman
