Hi,

I am not able to close down any pages when launched in i.e, the only way I can clsoe the page is to use task manager and program. I have reinstalled service pack 1, had pack 2 but same problem.

Can anybody help me it's driving me mad. I can use firefox but some of my programs won't work with this.

I don't fully understand your problem. Is the "X" positioned in the top right corner gone?

the x is there but when i click it to close down the page nothing happens, i can minimise but not close.

are you using any visual styles?

Try using the classic theme and turn off any visual styles

(this also means replacing yoru uxtheme.dll to the oridinal)

Does taskmanager show that is it not responding?

Have you checked for spyware? If you don't really care which browser you use, switch to Firefox or Opera.
