My System - How to speed it up?

I need to now how to speed my system up i have just bought simcity 4 and it kinda lags can anybody tell me what the problem is i'm lost i de-fraged nothing i have a G-force 4 Powerpack Gainward/650tv out/mx460 X-P operating system.

I have 512 ram. I have msn messenger t_bone_26@hotmail.com

BTW, the problem is not the computer. It is the operator. If a person posts a question about speeding-up his/her PC on a Technology Board in the General Discussion Section when there are other sections specificaly for hardware/software discussions then it is obvious that this is a operator problem.

And if you were home right now we could be playing StarCraft !!!

Now what CPU do you have and speed of ram, Hard drive...You should post a indept system specs, something like This

lowrider_1 For being a basic Sim, sim city 4 is very intensive game. You will notice a slow down when zooming into the city as wellas one you get a large city. I have a 2.4 with ti4200 128 version and i still notice a slow down with Sim City 4.

As for things you can do, first off your vid card is sort of low end. you migh wanna try a ti version. OR maybe some more ram as well as a clean format and fresh install of the OS.

He needs to do a fresh install for starters like Drew said. And needs to fix that SB Audigy.
