I currently have the Peugot 206 and Mazda Miata, all tuned up etc. (I win all races and outruns in one go). Also a Lexus IS200 but I don't like it (performance was getting nowhere after spending a few thousand so I lost interest).

I think the best course would be:

1 RWD

2 FWD

2 AWD

All five slots are unlocked now.

Or maybe there should be 2 RWD and 1 AWD instead.

I like RWDs in the real life but in the game they are difficult to handle since they output so much power the car begins to do 360-degrees turns. I have to tap the accel. on Miata continuously to get it in a straight line (even with the best tires available).

Also, the AWDs handle too much like the RWDs, so what's theire benefits?
