gamehead200 Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Everytime my mom logs on to my computer (with her username) a folder in one of my HDs pops up. Then, when she logs off, 'Explorer.exe' doesn't want to shut down, so she has to press the 'End Now' button or wait until it does shut down. How can I fix these two problems?
MSNwar Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 I do not know about the folder that pops up because I need more details. Is it popping up on the desktop or what? The most frequent reason a XP system has to be shut down like that is because there is a background process running. Open task manager, look at the applications and the processes when that happens. Lets us know a little more.
gamehead200 Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Ok, the folder opens up like a normal folder and then you see more files inside...These are the processes running:Explorer.exeOSD.exeMSMSGS.exe (MSN Messenger)WinLogon.exeDELLMMKb.exeCTFMON.exeApacheMonitor.exe (Web Server)Nymse.exe (Virus Scan)CSRSS.exeCClaw.exeZlh.exeAny ideas?
