Explorer And Folders At Logon

Everytime my mom logs on to my computer (with her username) a folder in one of my HDs pops up. Then, when she logs off, 'Explorer.exe' doesn't want to shut down, so she has to press the 'End Now' button or wait until it does shut down. How can I fix these two problems?

I do not know about the folder that pops up because I need more details. Is it popping up on the desktop or what?

The most frequent reason a XP system has to be shut down like that is because there is a background process running. Open task manager, look at the applications and the processes when that happens. Lets us know a little more.

Ok, the folder opens up like a normal folder and then you see more files inside...

These are the processes running:

Explorer.exe

OSD.exe

MSMSGS.exe (MSN Messenger)

WinLogon.exe

DELLMMKb.exe

CTFMON.exe

ApacheMonitor.exe (Web Server)

Nymse.exe (Virus Scan)

CSRSS.exe

CClaw.exe

Zlh.exe

Any ideas?

OSD.exe I have no idea what this is

WinLogin.exe should be winlogin.exe something wrong here

DELLMMKB.exe I dont know what this does. I guess it is a Dell thing.

CFTMON.exe is okay

ApacheMonitor.exe is okay

Nymse.exe is okay

CSRSS.exe should be csrss.exe

CClaw.exe and Zlh.exe I am not sure about

That is all? You should have at least 6 to 10 more processes.

You should go to www.blackviper.com and research the Operating System, Configurazation Services Guide, http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/OSguides.htm

Wish I could be more help.
