16:9 Aspect Ratio in Terminal Server Session

Hi everybody,

I'm having a heck of a time getting Windows 2003 Server to fill a 16:9 widescreen monitor during a terminal server session. I've tried changing the resolution to 1920X1200 (Max resolution for this monitor) on the server while in a term. services session, but it wont allow me to. I've also tried forcing 1920X1200 in the .rdp file by editing it in notepad, but no luck there either. How can I get our Terminal Server to talk to the Terminal Server user in 16X9 instead of 4:3? Right now when the user connects I either have to set his local resolution to 4:3 compatible (I think 1600X1200) or else I get black stripes on either side of the display. With 4:3 resolutions, everything is stretched widthwise and looks funky. Any ideas? Thanks in advance,

Stuff.

From my information the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol for the WinNT5.1 & 5.2 kernels have a server-side maximum resolution of 1600x1200 - as far as I am aware this hard-coded, to which there is no workaround.

if you putz around with the TSWeb client's javascript (or use rdesktop in cygwin) it will let you specify your resolution (resWidth by resHeight). A 16:9 aspect ratio is achievable but you cannot go higher than 1600x1200. (1600x1024 is the closest 16:9 aspect to this)
