Anyone aware of a way to prevent the ability to rip music in WMP10.

I want users to be able to use WMP10 on our PCs as its a lot nicer than previous offerings, however some keep ripping disks to their home folders/hdds! Rather than slap them with corporate policy I just want to disable the option altogether.

I’m looking to do this also in our enterprise environment but have found stuff-all.

The only options I’ve found are to lock media player to a custom skin via group policy or point the rip location to a nonexistent drive and again lock down via gp.

Neither of these options is too eloquent tho.

Anyone else have any ideas?

I would look through here in the registry maybe something in here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer

Also I think that BTS WMP10 Slipstream doesnt support the rip feature.
