3-button Shutdown Dialog Box buttons don't work

Recommended Posts

All this started happening after I tried to install some new bootscreens...

When I use the option to show the 3-button Shutdown, the "Restart" button does not work. The "Shutdown Button" appears to close Windows -- my desktop clears out -- but then *nothing* happens: ctrl/alt/delete does not work, nor does pressing my power button on my pc. I have to turn off the power supply on my outlette strip.

After I go thru all that, when I turn on my PC again, I get a LogoZip extractor that keeps trying to load new bootscreens, but it keeps giving me an error message. I've done a search on my pc, and cannot find where that little bugger is.

HP "help" had me jumping thru hoops: at one point, all my drivers disappeared!

(When I use the log-off screen that has the drop-down menu, everything is okay.)

Any suggestions?

"What kind of bootscreens?"

Ummmm... I don't understand the question: isn't a bootscreen a bootscreen, same as any other bootscreen?....? :blink:

The programs I used:

* some bootscreens have self-installers

* booter v3.2

* Syleit XP

* Bootskin

* Boot Editor

* LogonUI
