June 24, 200521 yr Anyone have any ideas on how/where to make the...Start> Settings> Control Panel> Power Option...Power & Sleep keys do "Do nothing" cos we've got a batch of motherboards and the kids have worked out that if they press power or sleep they turn off but dont come back on so they get to do no work.Anywhere in the registry or something like that..?Any advice/info welcomeThankyouAndy
June 24, 200521 yr Did you tried to select the option "Do nothing" ????(the first of the list for each key)That's in "Start> Settings> Control Panel> Power Option", "Advanced" tabbye
June 27, 200521 yr Author Yeah but it doesnt seem to save the settings once the next person logs in, Im trying to find a way to set this during boot.
June 27, 200521 yr Look in the "Unattended Windows" forum : you'll need to record the changes in the registry when you change this option, then copy them into HkLM to make it a per-machine setting (if "per-machine" is not taken into account, you'll need to copy it to the default user)(maybe someone has alredy tried that : look first in the "registry tweaks" threads)bye
June 28, 200521 yr I answered this somewhere else where you asked a similar question:How To Disable the Keyboard Sleep Button with a Filter DriverOr...Disable the ACPI (power management) functions in the BIOS will cause all three functions to be disabled.Or...Remove the Keyboard driver and install the default driver (101/104 microsft natural kebboard).
