recording double-layer DVD

How can i record a double layer DVD (Dvd9) image onto a normal DVD (4.7 GB).

Please Help me !!!!!!!!1

should i split the image or what ????????? (have no idea)

p.s. This is not warez or anykind of piracy thing just a copy of linux

Well if it is linux, I think most of it is data and probably can not be compressed any smaller so you would have to buy one of those DVD9 blank discs, but if it were like a movie or something there is software out there that lets you shrink the movie to a smaller size but you would loose some quality and features, but be aware that those movies are probably copy right protected.
