Try this

"nero-6.6.0.14.exe /SILENT /NOREBOOT /SN=XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX /WRITE_SN"

you don't need to install version 6.0.0.0 just install 6.6.0.14

If that doesn't work try this reg file.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\Info]
"User"="Name"
"Company"="Org"
"Serial6"="xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx"

I dont think your retail serial for 6.0.0.0 will work with the new release.

You will need to purchase a new key for the 6.6.x.x.x.x release

I don't agree. I'm unsure of the dates of releases but I purchased Nero Ultra 6.x on Feb 5th 2004 and my key works just fine with the latest release.

I just updated to 6.6.0.14 also :thumbup

If you need to know what your Retail S/N you can find it in your registry

---> HKEY_LOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\AHEAD\Nero - burning Rom\Info <--- :whistle:

thanks everyone for the help it was the 6.0.0.0 wasnt taking the sn but the 6.6.0.14 did thanks i thing i still have a little hair left

This is a know issue. When SimonSays released his guide to compress and silently install Nero 6.xxx

The demo issue was reported due to the fact that the serial was invalid or blacklisted.

If you install Nero 6.6.0.14 and use your outdated or blacklisted number it will work.

but try to do it unattended. and tell us your results I am curious as well.

Thanks :)

Post your script?

This is all I use to install VC's nero package.(running from the cd).

REG ADD %KEY%\180 /VE /D "Nero 66014" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\180 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Nero\nero66014.exe" /f

i got it i just made a bat file with the switches and used runoncex to run the bat

I got Nero 6 just shortly after it came out retail (my CD has version 6.0.0.3 iirc) and my key still works for the 6.6.x.x version.
