I' have been reading about Avalon all around , but what does it do? I know it is the technology responsible for all the eye-candy in longhorn, but what does the current Avalon for XP do? Is it supposed to be developers only or there is another use to it?

Yup, I tried it in combo with minilogon...thought it would save me some resources...but not!

Nice to look at but pulls more resources than ur regular XP shell..taken that you have got rid of all those gayinsh XP themes/effects crap.

So, if I have 1GB of memory and not much use for it, would it be worth installing Avalon? Can I unninstal it later? Is it stable ot does it crash a lot?

Sure you can, it's even switchable between win-shell and avalon..login/logout.

Stable and lotsa themes around..

Me thinks its just a development SDK or something...

Or you need a program that was developed using Avalon/Indigo to take control of the new stuff ?!
