Macstorm
Hi there,After I performed System Restore feature on my system (successful), I found several system and programs files copied duplicated from previous originals, for exampl: rtcimsp.dll , rtcimsp(2).dll These files are scattered all over hard disk. What is the easiest way to get rid of all duplicated ones? Thanks
k0pect8
Do a search for *(2).dll...?Compare the dates before deletion- send to recycle bin until you're sure you don't need them.
Macstorm
thanks, I'll give a try btw, all duplicated files have the same date of its originals...does anyone know any program out there to do the work on it (.dll and other file types)
k0pect8
Start > Search > *(2).* will show all files with (2) in it- be careful not to delete files you need- chk the path.Recycle Bin your "safety net" until you are OK to perm delete (in other words- no errors).HTH- you probably have quite a few of those *(2).* files... don't know an automated proggy for that if that's what you're asking? I think I would just do it manually just in case.
Macstorm
Great Kopect8! Thanxs for ur quick response, so far method you suggest is working.... I almost sure there are several identic duplicated files added after SysRest also because my antivirus program is scanning more files than usual since the last S.R. was applied.Thanx a lot for your time!
