PoNi Posted May 24, 2005 Share Posted May 24, 2005 Ok I just inheirted a nice Dell 8400 Deminsion Specs: 3.4 Gtz 800mhz bus 1.0 gig of ram 160 sata drive Radien x800 SE video cardI was thinking of finally making a MCE box, but have read the many problems ppl are having with hardware issues. You can go to microsoft.com and find the media center page and it will have a hardware compatibility list. The other thing you will need is a micorsoft MCE remote control. raskren Posted July 15, 2005 Share Posted July 15, 2005 The old AIW card might work if you can find the hacked driver floating around on the internet somewhere. The old AIW cards are not pure hardware mpeg2 encoders so all of the work has to be done by the CPU. This makes it impractical to do anything else with your PC while you're recording.
