Hey...

Im wondering what the folders $Docs$ $Progs$ are used for? Please refer to the image in the OEM-guide:

oem_folder_structure.png

So fare Ive found out that the files placed in $OEM$\$1\ will be copied to the root of the system-drive (i.e. C:\) and files placed in $OEM$\$$\ will be copied to the windows folder:

But will files placed in $Docs$ and $Progs$ be copied to Documents and Settings and Program Files or what? And if so; what in the name of "pythagoras svedige sandaler" would people place there and make sure to have copied to Docs and Program Files?

Wuhtzu :)

For the silent install of Winzip the $prog$ folder can be used and the $Docs$ folder can be used if you want certain shortcuts to appear in your start menu or desktop. After a while I'm sure you'll learn how to create your own shortcuts using shortcut.exe, but I have only just got round to doing this after a month of doing UA. When I started I just shoved all the shortcuts that weren't created during the install in there in the correct sub folders and 'lo they were there after the install.

I'm gonna stop rambling now

Thanks.... I can see the idea about the shortcuts and the idea of extracting WinZIP after copying it to Program Files.

An additional question: What happens to the folder copied to the root of the systemdrive after all the installations has completed? Is it deleted og does it just stay right where you left it?

If you want to get rid of the folders then you can delete them using your cleanup.cmd. See the unattended guide examples section for the syntax. :)
