unsure how to really say what the problem is. but I can't sign into msn messanger, Hotmail or any thign that including you going to a secure sight to login to. the only thign i really did before this was install a secrity update or well my computer did. room mate turn on auto update and auto install. so that went fine it rebooted. it scared th crap out of me condering that i was asleep and my pc is right next to me so when i heard the shut down noise i shot awake. but Yea is thsi a windows problem? also i am running windows Xp pro SP2...

Coul'd you be more specific, there must be some kind of error that MSN brings up upon failed connection..
