Br4tt3 Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Lo folks..trying to integrate the SP1 for Win2003 Server, and upon final install, I get the "Windows Server Post-Setup Security Update" dialog box in my face..I know I know, you are supposed to do stuff with it but... I downloaded the SP1 deployment tools from MS: ref.chm & deploy.chm and I cant find any entries that correspond to this niffty feature... so any1 else had any luck with it yest?My guess there must be some kind of corresponding entry to the unattend file.Cheers.
Sonic Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Just run this reg in cmdlines.txtWindows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\srvWiz]@=dword:00000000and thanks because I will use it now
Br4tt3 Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 Thanks, I will try it out...I was wishing for an unattend entry from MS to control this feature, but I guess they (M$) havent documented this one yet.. not in the deployment tools anyway.THX again Sonic the "hedgehog" and stay fast..
Br4tt3 Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Well, SrvWiz entry is for the "Manage Your Server" .hta that comes with Win2003 (common to all Win2003 versions) which I personally fix in the hivedef.inf file. The PSSU (only found in slipstreamed installs of Win2003 SP1) can be configured not to be showed by:adding configuration for deactivating the Windows 2003 firewall settings. once this is done, the PSSU dialog box is not showed on newly installed systems...
Noise Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I load the following reg file during cmdlines.txt:Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\srvWiz]@=dword:00000000[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\tips]"Show"=dword:00000000
