angel0104 Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 i get an error during the text portion of xp setup saying that uxtheme.dll is not a valid xp system image. could it be that there's something wrong with my txtsetup? can anyone help me...
sleepnmojo Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Did you modify the file yourself, or download it?If you modified it, make sure you run modifype on it before adding it to the cd.
angel0104 Posted May 17, 2005 Author Posted May 17, 2005 i've downloaded it from ryanvm's site. i've also tried the one attached on the uxtheme forum. still no luck. i just continued the installation - i got into windows and to my surprise i was able to change my visual style to an unpatched one. i just don't understand why there's a message like that.would it be okay if i revert back to uxtheme 2180?
KJxp Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 >to my surprise i was able to change my visual style to an unpatched oneThat is what that uxtheme.dll download is for: hacking out the part that restricts users to signed M$ themes. What is the exact version of your C:\Windows\System32\ntoskrnl.exe? This would help us better in knowing exactly which uxtheme.dll is the proper one for your system.
