bobbert Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Developing a web site using ASP... now in original XP Professional i had NO issues whatsoever with the pages i'm testing but i recently installed a clean installation of service pack II and the bugger wont let me write to a database...reading from the database (.mdb) works perfectly fine but the minute you try and write to it, you get a crappy error which pretty much tells you to get stuffed... how can i get around this?i've seen plenty of threads where folks had the same problem but nothing i found worked...any help would be REALLY appreciated, ive been stuck on this for the last month and im really at my wits end!
bobbert Posted May 20, 2005 Author Posted May 20, 2005 *cough* could someone help please... onegai shimasu!
ramone_johnny Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Its a permissions issue. Simple as that. Obviously the db is read only.RJ
dman Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Also, "crappy error" is not very helpful. Please try to be more specific.
ramone_johnny Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Do me a favour. Untick "show friendly error messages" within your browser settings and cut and paste the error message here. Its hard to correct the problem when you dont know what it is exactly.RJ
PoloDude Posted August 9, 2005 Posted August 9, 2005 Can it be that the debugger has changed the settings for using the .NET Framework 2? If so, you have to change those settings of your site in the iss control panel, if not, give a better error description and we'll try to help you out Grtz
