[Help] Windows Media Player

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Hope someone can help. After downloading and running MP10setup I end up with a message with a heading of "Cannot Complete Windows Media 10 Setup". It also says "It is not possible to complete Setup. Windows Media Player was not installed. To update windows, run Windows Media Player Setup again."

When I run it again I end up with the same message. Does anyone have any ideas.

The message is a WMP message not a normal XP error message.

I am using XP SP1 on a Pentium 4 2.5

Thanks for any help

Ray

I'm just posting this for posterity as I had the same problem and it took me weeks to figure it out. At least for my specific instance the answer was to download the drmclien.dll file from dll-files and copy it into the \windows\system directory. Once I did that all of the problems cleared up and everything installed fine.
